These bright red flowers appeared on a watercolor paper on a gloomy day. I reached out for my brush and started painting without any specific intention in my head. Free practices like this one are so soothing and relaxing, it becomes a meditational practice when the mind is free and the fingers know where to go and what to do. Now this piece is ready to be scanned and framed. Hopefully one day there will be an opportunity for an art exhibit and this piece will sure be entered.

Folk painting is a very generous practice. Folk artists paint from their heart and not from the reality. Therefore their flowers are more whimsical and poetic in a way.
